Academic Achievements
Valedictorian:
Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy proudly announces that Sydney Payeff has earned the top honor of valedictorian for the graduating Class of 2023. Sydney plans to attend Bowling Green State University, in the Honors College, in the fall to study Business Administration.
Academically, Sydney has excelled achieving President’s List and First Honors during freshman-junior years, as well as being named Top Ten Honors her junior year.
This Cardinal not only worked hard in the classroom but she was involved in every part of campus activities including: active participation in the National Honor Society (librarian - junior year and treasurer - senior year), four-year member of student council (class rep freshman - junior years and secretary - senior year). She served on the Cardinal Core preparing for all-school Masses and other activities on campus. Sydney was on the homecoming float committee, prom committee, musical (set design, paint, and stage crew), art club, cardio drumming club, and wellness club.
As an athlete her focus and dedication helped her excel as well. Sydney was a four-year varsity volleyball and basketball player (captain for both teams her sophomore and junior years). She earned TAAC All-Academic Award (junior and senior years).
Within the greater community Sydney participated in Youth Leadership Toledo her sophomore year, and continued to serve on the Youth in Philanthropy Encouraging Excellence (YIPEE) committee her junior year. While serving with YIPEE, her team raised over $20,000 to award grants to other nonprofits in the area. She also helped or volunteered at Toledo Zoo Dart Frog Dash, Toledo Zoo Polar Paws, Toledo Zoo Slow Brew, Queen of Apostles Clean-up Days, United Way Days of Service, and Habitat Playhouse Build.
Salutatorian:
Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School & Academy senior Analise Quiroga has achieved a top honor as salutatorian of the Class of 2023. Analise plans to attend University of Findlay in the fall, majoring in Animal Science, Pre-Veterinary Medicine.
Analise competed in four different varsity sports throughout high school including cross country, soccer, basketball, and indoor and outdoor track and field. She was inducted into the Monsignor Micheal J. Waltz Chapter of the National Honor Society her sophomore year and has maintained her membership, serving as a librarian her junior year and the president her senior year. Analise also became involved in student council her senior year and held the position of treasurer.
She was a member of Cardinal Core since her freshman year, setting up for Masses, and being chosen as a Kairos leader for her classmates. She has also shown her love for serving others as she has been actively involved in service within the National Honor Society, Park Church, and many other opportunities within her school and community.
